The first casino in Luc sur Mer was built in around 1860, as Bath building annex, to ensure to the holiday makers fun and good time with gambling and shows. In 1882, a violent storm added to very high tide destroyed the promenade and the building, which stands there.
A new casino, built in 1883, had 5 main rooms. A gambling club was created. To be part of it, one had to be sponsored by a member and to pay a membership. That club had little success.
Destroyed during the Second World War, it’s only 5 years later that a new project, designed by the architect Monsieur Auvray, is built. The new casino is inaugurated in 1956 and opened in 1958, with monsieur Cardi as manager.
